HAIRAPIST was established in April 2019.
I love to stay crazy busy. Five years volunteering as a girl scout leader and countless hours donating myself to the Ashtabula Downtown Development Association (AKA: ADDA) having benches placed up and down Main Avenue. I had hanging basket arms made for each light post and finding a local artist to paint a beautiful mural on the side of a local business. I have run the downtown Ashtabula Christmas parade for many years.
I was extremely honored to also find time to visit and help make drug and alcohol rehab patients feel more beautiful a couple times a week. Little do they know that they helped me equally as much as I helped them. I have upwards of twenty plus years doing hair at a group home of eight men. They humble me and keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.
After my daughters grew up and moved away I found myself a little lost. So I partook in a year-long educational class that taught everything about Ashtabula. After graduating from LEADership Ashtabula in 2017, I met some pretty talented and interesting people that lead me to an entrepreneur class that gave me insight and direction into what it takes to run a business.
But the time just wasn't right, until... On the first Sunday of March 2019 when a life-changing event prompted me to finally follow a lifelong dream. I knew I had to stay on Main Avenue, so I can watch its revolution come to fruition again.
I cater to men, women, and children that are looking for a fun-loving atmosphere. I love my profession, which doesn't make it a job.
Find something you love to do and you will never work a day in your life.
Suzy loves remodeling her 1930 house and trying to preserve the history of downtown Ashtabula by working on her building from 1864.
Suzy has a brown New Foundland named Oliver (AKA: LOVE PUP) which travels cross country, and into many parts of Canada with his Uncle Den Den.
Suzy recently reached a dream of obtaining her scuba license in Utila, Honduras. Suzy also has a pretty bad case of wander lust.......
